Venues and Species Because of capricious weather, we at Casting for Gold like to make final decisions in the last few days before your trip. John will decide where our best chances lie and will phone to discuss targets and tactics three or four days before you arrive. This will give you time to sort specific gear and baits, flies or lures. Remember, this is your trip and everything will be up for discussion and agreement. In general, the summer and autumn months will see fishing on the estate lakes for tench, rudd and carp. There will be the possibility of summer barbel, chub and roach from the rivers and perhaps mullet, sea trout or sea bass from the estuaries and shorelines. We also have some exclusive river and lake trout fishing for those wanting to cast a fly or to learn the art. The late autumn and winter will still feature the estate lakes for marvellous pike and perch fishing but the rivers will come into their own for big chub and roach.
Accommodation will either be on a country estate, in a sixteenth-century farmhouse bed and breakfast, or at a delightful rural restaurant / hotel. 2008 Diary Dates21st 22nd 23rd February – Bure Valley 6th 7th 8th March – River Wensum 10th11th12th April – A Very Special Estate Lake 25th 26th 27th 28 May – Poland – Grayling on the San River – Magical wilderness. 12th13th14th June – Famous Estate Lake in North Norfolk 3rd 4th 5th July - Adventure with John Bailey 7th 8th 9th August – Family Fishing with John Bailey 4th5th 6th September – A Norfolk Fishing Experience 2nd3rd 4th October – More adventures with John Bailey 6th7th8th November – A very Special Estate Lake 28th – 2nd December – Slovenia – A Unique Fishing Trip - Fishing for the Huchen .  Price for trip £425 includes accommodation, all meals and fishing. Please bring a bottle or two to enjoy with your fellow guests on arrival and during an informal supper. The second evening wine can be purchases at the table as an extra £14 per bottle. These are your trips to enjoy, any request will be discussed and considered.
